Now this is real fine fireclay. Most products calling themselves fireclay are more like what toilets are made of. Wavy finish, a bit distorted, with overly-rounded corners. You get what you pay for. Ours is the real fine fireclay, which is not made anywhere in China. Our sinks are molded solid with high-pressure and left to dry for 2 days to remove the moisture in the clay. Less moisture means less shrinkage and warping during the kiln firing process. The result is a precisely sized product, with flat, flawless surfaces and crisp, sharp and straight corners. Not like others that have bumps and depressions like that clay bowl your child made for your birthday last year. This is the focal point of your kitchen. It’s OK to be picky.We even add a stainless-steel wire grid so you can stack some dishes and they won’t get in the way of the draining water and bits of food. We don’t ask you to overpay for them as seperately purchased accessories. However, we leave the strainer drain up to you and your plumber.
